Across That Divide, 2014
Railyard Performance Center, Santa Fe, NM
Across that Divide was created in an intensive summer seminar with Pedro Alejandro Dance and Dancers (PADD.) This work was created in collaboration with company members including Samantha Sherman and Aaron Freedman over the span of a week through Pedro’s choreography process: fuzzy logic. Dancers and choreographers move in and out of improvisation and the inexact reconstruction of improvisation sets the dance phrases into momentum. Across that Divide was originally set on all four the company members bodies, but was condensed from quartet to duet to be performed for a Contact Improvisation showcase performed at the Railyard Performance Center in Santa Fe.
